About Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean-Paul Gaultier made a striking debut in fashion in 1976 with his prêt-à-porter collection under his eponymous brand, “Jean Paul Gaultier.” In the early 1980s, he signed a licensing agreement with Onward Kashiyama and has since been known as a Japanophile. He also served as a designer for Hermès from 2004. He has designed costumes for global stars such as Madonna and led the fashion industry by constantly presenting collections at the forefront of the times. In 2020, he announced his retirement from collections. He created a beautifully grand production for his final show that resembled a festive celebration, with celebrities, stars, and top models worldwide in attendance. Despite his retirement, he continued to make strides, such as collaborating with Sacai, and his influence in the fashion industry remains strong.
