Tokyo Disney Resort 40th Anniversary ‘Dream-Go-Round’ to be held in 2023

On Saturday, April 15th, 2023, an opening ceremony was held at Tokyo Disneyland® to celebrate the start of the anniversary event “Tokyo Disney Resort 40th Anniversary Dream-Go-Round”. Despite the same rainy weather as the opening day of Tokyo Disneyland 40 years ago, the ceremony took place at the “Showbase” in Tomorrowland, following a greeting from Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador Mika Ogasawara. Oriental Land Co., Ltd. Chairman, and CEO Toshio Kagami, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro, and Oriental Land Co., Ltd. President and COO Kenji Yoshida also gave speeches representing their respective organizations.

Tokyo Disney Resort, celebrating its 40th anniversary today, will continue to evolve and grow as an “ever-evolving theme park.” Preparation is also underway for the eighth themed port, “Fantasy Springs,” which is set to open in the spring of 2024.

Tokyo Disney Resort celebrated its 40th anniversary on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, and will hold the anniversary event “Tokyo Disney Resort 40th Anniversary Dream-Go-Round” for 352 days until Sunday, March 31st, 2024. As Tokyo Disney Resort marks its 40th anniversary, guests, cast members, Disney friends, and everyone’s colorful dreams will come together for a special year of celebration with smiles, excitement, and emotions.

“Fantasy Springs” is themed as “a Disney fantasy world guided by a magic spring” and comprises three areas based on Disney movies and one Disney hotel. All the new attractions, restaurants, shops, and the Disney hotel in “Fantasy Springs” are newly developed for this project. More guests will be able to enjoy the captivating and never-before-experienced world of fantasy, and the appeal and experiential value of Tokyo DisneySea, the only theme park in the world with a theme of “stories and legends about the sea,” will be further enhanced.
