Kasho Sanzen Co., Ltd., the manufacturer and seller of “Hagi no Tsuki,” a famous sweet from Sendai, has teamed up with Square Enix Co., Ltd. to develop a new item for the location-based RPG game “Dragon Quest Walk” (iOS/Android) called the “Real Souvenir Project.” The sixth edition of the project, which involves creating real-life versions of in-game items, will be launched on March 17 (Friday) and will be available exclusively at stores within Miyagi Prefecture and online shops.

As part of the Real Souvenir Project, Zunda Charyo, a specialty sweets shop in Miyagi Prefecture that specializes in “zunda,” a traditional cuisine from Sendai, has collaborated to develop a souvenir called “Zunda Mochi,” which players can obtain by visiting landmarks in the game and clearing quests. Zunda Charyo aims to preserve the culture and deliciousness of zunda and share it with people all over Japan.

To make the traditional food culture of Sendai, Miyagi, “Zunda Mochi,” more accessible, Zunda Charyo has created a version of Zunda Mochi that wraps sweet bean paste in mochi and can be carried at room temperature. The souvenir “Zunda Mochi” obtained in the game is designed in the motif of the “Slime Behomazun,” The package is created in the shape of a three-dimensional Slime Behomazun. The box contains individually packaged Zunda Mochi, each wrapped to resemble the “Monster’s Heart.”
