Shibuya’s Beloved Dog Celebrates 100th Birthday with a Robotic Companion
Trendmaster Co., Ltd. is set to launch the “Nadenade Wanchan Akita Inu HACHI EX,” a communication robot modeled after the puppy years of the faithful dog Hachiko, to commemorate his 100th birth anniversary in Shibuya. The product features the “HACHI100 Project” logo and will be available nationwide on April 10.
Limited pre-sale of 100 units started on the crowdfunding service “Makuake” on March 8 and will continue until April 8.
Hachiko’s story is a tale of true love between an Akita dog and its owner, which occurred in Shibuya during the Taisho era. This year, 2023, marks the 100th anniversary of Hachiko’s birth.
In light of this, Trendmaster Co., Ltd. has created a plush toy robot version of Hachiko using cutting-edge technology and will release the “Nadenade Wanchan Akita Inu HACHI EX” to share the joy of living with Hachiko with many people.
