Main Features
1. Uncompromising optical performance based on “Art F1.4” standard
The 11 groups and 14 lenses of the latest optical design technology are optimized with three aspherical lenses and 1 SLD glass. The various aberrations, such as astigmatism and surface curvature, that camera functions cannot correct are effectively suppressed.
Despite its large aperture of F1.4, the lens has been designed to optimize the peripheral imaging performance. It has nearly wholly suppressed chromatic aberrations, thus providing high performance that can withstand severe shooting requirements such as starry skies and night scenes.
In addition to clear, sharp, and non-color-fringing image quality over the entire screen, the lens can take full advantage of the beauty of enormous, natural bokeh unique to F1.4 for shooting.
2. High-speed AF realizing light and comfortable shooting
The 50mm F1.4 DG DN | Art adopts the linear motor “HLA (High-response Linear Actuator)” for the first time as an Art line designed exclusively for full-frame mirrorless cameras.
Additionally, making the focusing lens an aspherical lens on both sides offers fast, quiet focusing and high tracking performance even with its large aperture of F1.4.
With the brightness of the open F1.4 and high-performance AF, it can handle a variety of scenes, from low light shooting to action shooting, snap shooting, and even video shooting.
3. High performance and slim, compact design
The 50mm F1.4 DG DN | Art lens has been designed with consideration for ease of handling when mounted on a small mirrorless camera system. Efforts have been made to optimize the placement of each component and mechanism to achieve a slim barrel for a comfortable grip.
The lens follows the “optical performance first” concept of the Art line without compromise. It balances top-class performance and a compact size ideal for a mirrorless system. It is a versatile tool for shooting various scenes, from low-light to fast-moving subjects and even video.
4. Rich functions and high build quality.
This lens is equipped with a focus mode switch, an aperture ring click switch that can be switched between ON and OFF, an aperture ring lock switch to prevent unintended operations, and an AFL button that can be assigned any function from the camera.
It is designed with intuitive operation in mind during shooting. In addition, it is dust and moisture-resistant and has a water-repellent coating on the front lens to accommodate various shooting environments.
Despite its compact and lightweight design, it has a high build quality ensured by the reliable manufacturing technology of “Made in Aizu.”
The DG DN Art F1.4 series has five lenses ranging from 20mm to 85mm.
